update *October 2010

Sorry I haven't updated in a while....But I'm doing good. Turned out that my surgeon said I didn't have to do anything about the fistula as long as I was not having many symptoms. I do ok if I take my gas pills. So, yep, no more surgery for me!! woo hoo!! The only problem I have now, which I knew was a possibility, is the mouth sores!! I have been plaqued with recurring canker sores for awhile now. I have now been on several courses of prednisone, and each time I am on it, the mouth sores resolve. Then as soon as I get off the pred, I start to get the canker sores again. I have had as many as 6 sores in my mouth at one time. I feel horrible when I have them...my glands get sore and it hurts to eat, drink, or even talk. I hate them. I just got off pred afew days ago, but will be talking with my GI yet again about this. I think I want to go back on my IBD maintenance meds again, for just the mouth sores. We'll see.....
